All Chelsea wants to do this summer is hang out with her best friend, hone her talents as an ice cream connoisseur, and finally get over Ezra, the boy who broke her heart. Which makes moving on and forgetting Ezra a lot more complicated…even when Chelsea starts falling for someone new. 


Maybe Chelsea should have known better than to think that a historical reenactment village could help her escape her past. But with Ezra all too present, and her new crush seeming all too off limits, all Chelsea knows is that she’s got a lot to figure out about love. Because those who don’t learn from the past are doomed to repeat it….

Past Perfect was a book I was highly anticipating. I LOVED Leila Sales first novel, Mostly Good Girls some crazy amount, enough to even compete with a passage from it during forensics season. While I don't think Past Perfect quite lived up to Sales's debut, Past Perfect was still a book that I absolutely loved.

I love the way Leila Sales writes. Her books are down right some of the funniest books I've ever read, they are just so charming. Her stories are also just addicting, I found myself having a hard time putting down Past Perfect once I started.

Chelsea was a really fun character, I thought she was a lot of fun. Fiona was just great - I loved how spunky she was. Bryan was always the comic relief with his crazy facts he knew about all sorts of things that you really would not think would be that useful.

The plot was great. There was a bit of a stretch near the middle where I was not quite as on board with what was going on, but it was still quite fun. I loved the whole idea of the reenactment parks, such a unique idea with so much that could go on!

I absolutely adore the cover, it is so cute! Leila Sales is an author you simply have to check out. She is totally the next big thing! Past Perfect is a marvelous read that you will not regret reading.

I'm slightly intrigued by the book, mostly because I've never seen a YA set in a historical recreation village before. But the love triangle thing makes me a bit hesitant since I've read soooo many of those lately, I'm getting a bit burnt out.

So super glad you reviewed this one and liked it! I saw the cover around and agree wholeheartedly that is such a cute cover and now after reading your review I'd love to read it ! Right now, I'm really in the mood for something light and fun and this one sounds like the perfect choice!

I agree that this was a totally light-hearted and fun read. Chelsea was fun to read about IMO because she was so realistic.

Also, I agree that the cover is SUPER cute...but I was confused as to how it fit in with the story. Just me?
