Thankfully Reading: The Book I Am Most Thankful For


The entire Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

I started reading Harry Potter in the second grade, I had seen my older brother reading them and finally wanted to give these books a try. I had always been a reader, but I definitely can credit my reading Harry Potter to spurring me onto other books. I remember after starting to read the series, I would go to Barnes and  Noble, and look for other books like it. I still remember picking up Spellfall by Katherine Roberts since they recommended it for those who were fans of Harry Potter. Katherine Roberts is now one of my favorite authors and remains that way. Harry Potter is not only about my favorite series but has lead me onto other amazing books. I am curious if I would be the reader I am today, had I not started reading it.

I love this series of books also. I got to walk down memory lane for Thanksgiving and spent my day in Universal Studios drinking Butter Beer and riding the new Harry Potter ride - AWESOME! If you want to get a quick and cheep magical fix try going to MagiQuest which gives me my Harry fix once a year.

I'm thankful for this series as well, it's the only series I've seen my husband read in the 13 yeas we've been together. It has inspired hundreds of thousands of people to read, a truly significant feat :)

I'm definitely thankful for this series. I don't know what made me start reading the first book but after I read it, I had to read more.

I think Harry Potter has done this for so many people, especially in our generation. JK Rowling, you are a goddess =)
