Sophie dreams of being more like Devon Deveraux, star of her favorite romance novels, but, in reality, Sophie isn’t even daring enough to change her nail polish. All of that changes when Sophie goes to Florida to visit her grandma Roz, and she finds herself seated next to a wolfishly goodlooking guy on the plane. The two hit it off, and before she knows it, Sophie’s living on the edge. But is the drama all it’s cracked up to be?

Little Miss Red was an absolutely adorable read. It had a cute story, was well-written, and some pretty great characters.

I loved Sophie. I connected with her completely. She was such a romantic, dreaming about love all the time. Plus she stays on the safe side, never really stepping to the wild side. She reminded me a lot of myself, and different decisions she makes I found myself realizing they were the same as I would've made in the same situation. Sophie's addiction to her iPhone cracked me up. Sophie's grandma kept me laughing. Everything she did was just downright funny!

The plot was light, and didn't require you to think real deep. It was a nice story that you could get completely involved in while not having to think a lot about everything that went on. Little Miss Red was filled with so many laugh-out-loud moments!

I would definately recommend this retelling of an ancient fairy tale in modern times. It would be a perfect spring break read!

For most kids, a trip to space camp is the trip of a lifetime for Aadi it was life altering. After receiving a camp immunization needed for travel to Mars, Aadi finds that the immunization is the catalyst of an insidious experiment. He realizes what is happening too late for a change of fate. The full experiment is set in motion when he and his co-pilot, Eirena, crash in a distant galaxy called Shrenas, where they change and realize the full extent of their power. This turn of events forces him to grow up quickly, accept his change, and to decide to save a world, or to do what he was trained to do dominate it. His power is coveted by the warring leaders of Shrenas, and he is forced to choose sides a decision that may prove just how much humanity he has left.

Explorer X-Alpha was a perfectly enjoyable read. It was fairly unique, had a intriguing premise, and great characters.

It had a great premise! The story was very interesting, but was a bit slower. There was a lot of description, and that slowed down the story a bit. The last 1/3 of the book really picked up though, and was more fast paced. It really made the story seem whole and everything made more sense. One thing I wasn't crazy about was all the violence. There was so much! I really enjoyed the setting. It was something new, which I liked.

Some parts of Explorer X-Alpha were almost a bit unbelievable. It seemed as nothing could get in Aadi's way, and everything went his way. There was also the fact at how everyone trusted each other so easily. I found that a little hard to believe.

As the book went on, the characters grew drastically. I liked the characters in the beginning, but I liked them much more as the book went on. I loved Eirena and Raiko both. Everyone expected them to be weak girls, and they handed it to the boys numerous times! That was one of my favorite aspects of the books - that the girls were weak and boring.

I found myself confused at different points in the book. Explorer X-Alpha switched to different characters' stories at random times without any noting of it. You would be reading about one character, then all at once you were reading about another.

Explorer X-Alpha was a fun read, and I can't wait to hear more of the story!

Interview with The Naughty List's Tessa

Today I'm lucky to have Tessa, the main character of The Naughy List, here to answer a few questions! She's a cheerleader by day and an active member of SOS by night. Check out SOS's blog here!. Tessa stopped by The Frenetic Reader earlier this week to answer a few questions about her day to day life, but today she's answering a few questions about SOS and her role in it!

How did you meet Kira? You two seem really close. How did she get involved with SOS?

Well, every approved member of the Smitten Kittens cheer squad is also inducted into SOS. When I met Kira, she had quite a rep. But I never held that against her. I could tell she was sweet as molasses. And we are very close. She’s always got my backside.

What spy-related things do you always keep with you no matter what?

I always have a camera. I usually have a few adhesive-backed listening devices, a lock pick. Just the usual.

Do you see yourself as being a spy for the real deal in the future?

Definitely not. I think my services would be much better suited in the cheering industry. I’m hoping to one day open a cheer camp for the pep-impaired.

How much do your cheerleading moves help you on missions?

Oh, tons! The human pyramid has saved our rears on a number of occasions. And just last week, Leona had to high kick her way out a back door. She nearly died in there!

What spy gagdet are you dying to get for future missions?

I’d like to find some great disguise wear. Rubber masks, putty noses, even a wig or two. I think it’d be a lot of fun and much more helpful when we’re undercover at Applebee’s.

The Naughty List. Is your boyfriend on it?

This book was awesome - there's no other way to put it. It had a enticing plot, spectaluar writing, and fabulous characters you can connect with. Every moment of it is fast paced and a total page turner. It's a book as cute as it's cover!

I loved the Smitten Kittens. The attitude and commitment they had to their cause took guts, and it was great to read about. All the expressions Suzanne Young throws in The Naughty List were great. Tessa, the main character, frequently deems things "so strawberry smoothie!" or when things don't go quite right "sugarplum fairies" - they're so catchy! I wouldn't be suprised if I start using them everyday! Tessa, Kira and Leona are the three you here from the most, and I loved the depth they all had. They weren't just the perky cheerleaders who help other girls out. They weren't perfect and each had their own battle to face.

The first time I read the summary for The Naughty List, I thought the plot sounded adorable and it was! There were so many moments I was laughing as the girls went on their cheater exposing missions.

The Naughty List is a book to make you smile and feel good about yourself. This is definately a series you don't want to miss!

Interview with The Naughty List's Christian

Yesterday I had the opportunity to interview the author of The Naughty List, Suzanne Young, and today I have an interview with the one of the guys from the book, Christian. He's the new guy at school this year who is a total hottie and is rather mysterious. So without further ado... Christian!

How are you truly dealing with the divorce? How was your relationship with your sister before the divorce?

Wow. Don’t waste any time, do you? Um… what should I say? Divorce sucks. Chloe and I were not really that close before, but when you lose a parent, you have to compensate. Let’s just say I’m better at coping.

What is your favorite quality in a girl?

Smart, fun. Although recently, I’ve taken interest in girls of the sweet variety.

Can you tell us about some of your past girlfriends?

As long as you promise not to track them down. Not sure they’d have nice things to say about me. There was Marissa—class president at East Washington. She was pretty—a little dull. Then there was the time I dated Rena. She was a blast, but she was too passive. I like a girl with a little spunk.

What are some hobbies you have?

I work on cars sometimes. Nothing too involved, but I like using my hands. Figuring things out. I’m also great at chess.

What holiday do you think is overrated?

Valentine’s day. It’s completely useless and just a scam to get to people to spend money.

How do you think you would be as a member of SOS? If you were a member of SOS, what role do you think you would play? Would you be a techie like Leona or like Tessa and carrying out the missions?

I think I’d be an excellent spy. I’ve been known to figure things out—especially in the relationship way of thinking. I’m also pretty good at detecting liars. I’d probably be more like Kira. Not planning, and not a techie. I’d be the worker bee.

Are strawberry smoothies your favorite, as Tessa always loves everything to go strawberry smoothie?

A strawberry smoothie with whipped cream is always a good thing. I also enjoy banana smotthies. Lol

How good are you at taking praise? Because I'm fairly certain you'll be getting loads of it as soon as The Naughty List hits stores.

Wow, that’s really sweet of you to say. If I can be honest, I’m terrified for the book to come out. I’m not great with taking compliments—like I’m always waiting for the “but…” part of the sentence. I try not to stalk goodreads.

I hear you used to be a middle school teacher, what was your favorite part about that?

I loved chatting with the students. I loved teaching, and I loved teaching writing. I got my students excited about books. I hope I can still do that as a writer.

Which character from The Naughty List would you want to hang out with for the day?

You mean besides Aiden? Haha. I think I’d like a day with Tessa. I have a feeling I’d come home feeling very shiny and special.

Madison rediscovers many things that she lost during her lifetime. If you could find only one lost object, what would it be and why?

I’ve never been able to keep jewelry for more than a week or two without losing it, so the back roads of my life are littered with rings, bracelets, and necklaces spanning several different time periods. Of all that lost jewelry, the piece I’d most like to find is a necklace that my sister gave me back when I was in high school. Giving it to me meant so much to her, and I lost it (probably only the second time I’d ever worn it) in my boyfriend’s car. I can’t help wondering whether it could take me back to that time. I’d love the chance to get a “hindsight” view of that period of my life.

What’s your favorite Valentine’s treat (chocolates, cinnamon hearts, conversation hearts)?

I just can’t resist chocolate. It’s a serious weakness of mine, so I’d go for that. But I love the conversation hearts, too. They take me right back to those elementary school Valentine’s Day parties. The messages on the hearts always seemed so portentous then. I believed they were just like fortune cookies—if a boy gave me one that said “You’re mine,” I thought we were destined to end up married!

Michigan gets downright frigid. What do you do to beat the chilly temps?
I spend a lot of time sitting by my fireplace. It’s my favorite place to be in winter.

What’s your favorite thing about winter?
You won’t catch me skiing—that’s for sure. I fell once several years ago, and a large guy skied straight over my back. I haven’t braved it since! What I do like, though, is watching my daughter make snowmen. I love having hot chocolate ready for her when she comes back in. Seeing the marshmallows melt in it just makes the world seem like such a safe and tidy place to be.

Junior high really sucks for thirteen-year-old Vladimir Tod. Bullies harass him, the principal is dogging him, and the girl he likes prefers his best friend. Oh, and Vlad has a secret: his mother was human, but his father was a vampire. With no idea of the extent of his powers, Vlad struggles daily with his blood cravings and his enlarged fangs. When a substitute teacher begins to question him a little too closely, Vlad worries that his cover is about to be blown. But then he faces a much bigger problem: he's being hunted by a vampire killer.

This was a cute read. The characters were great. Vlad was a sweetie. Nelly was a really great character - she was so warm and brought a lot to the story. The plot was average, nothing about it really jumped out at me or hooked me into the story. I did enjoy the mythology that Eighth Grade Bites had. Throughout the entire story, there were bits of mythology and family secrets. Eighth Grade Bites was an alright read with great mythology and lovely characters.
